I love those type of friendships that don’t require a lot of effort. We may not see each other as much as we want to or talk as much as we used to, but it doesn’t change the fact that we’re friends no matter what. They can do their own thing and I can do my own thing. What’s important is that whenever we do see each other again, we can pick up right from where we left off without making it awkward. Any friendship that works out like that is a friendship worth having.
Whether it’s for the better or worse, you just have to learn to deal with it. I know it hurts sometimes when you tried so hard to make things work, and it didn’t. But trust me, there’s a meaning behind everything. Whether it’s the right time with the wrong person, or the wrong time with the right one, eventually things will fall into place, and you’ll be happy why it never worked out with the wrong ones.
Let’s float through the lazy river together. Let’s ride all the tubes and tunnels. Let’s surf the fake waves and fail badly. Let’s laugh at each other when we try crossing the slippery logs and keep slipping off into the water. Let’s have swimming races even though we know who would win anyways. I’ve always wanted this kind of day with you.
